【摘要】:1.1ThepurposeofthisclassificationsystemistoprovideamethodofadequatelyidentifyingPMMAmaterialsusingasystemconsistentwiththatofClassificationSystemD4000.Itfurtherprovidesameansforspecifyingthesematerialsbytheuseofasimplelinecalloutdesignation.1.2Thisclassificationsystemcoverspoly(methylmethacrylate)moldingandextrusioncompounds.Thesecompoundsarepolymersbasedonmethylmethacrylate,andatleast70%ofthepolymershallbepolymerizedfrommethylmethacrylate.1.3Thepropertiesinthisclassificationsystemarethoserequiredtoidentifythecompositionscovered.Theremaybeotherrequirementsnecessarytoidentifyparticularcharacteristicsimportanttospecificapplications.TheseshallbedescribedbyusingthesuffixesasgiveninSection5.1.4Acrylicmoldingandextrusioncompoundsareusedfrequentlyinapplicationswhereextremeclarityandtheabilitytoretainthatclarityandcolorundersevereweatheringandotherenvironmentalexposuresareofprimarysignificance.Whilethetestspecimenpropertiesofthisdocumentmaybeusedtoevaluatenonvirginmaterials,theusershouldtakeprecautionstoensurethatpartsmadefromthesematerialsmeetthedesiredend-userequirements.Accordingly,thisspecificationallowsfortheuseofthoseacrylicplasticmaterialsthatcanberecycled,reconstituted,andregroundedprovidedthefollowing:1.4.1Therequirementsasstatedinthisspecificationaremet,1.4.2Thematerialhasnotbeenmodifiedinanywaytoalteritsconformancetofoodcontactregulationsorsimilarrequirements,and1.4.3Therequirementsoftheparticularend-useapplicationaremet.1.5Thisclassificationsystemandsubsequentlinecallout(specification)arenotintendedfortheselectionofmaterials,butonlyasameanstocalloutplasticmaterialstobeusedforthemanufactureofparts.Theselectionofthesematerialsistobemadebypersonnelwithexpertiseintheplasticsfieldinwhichtheenvironment,inherentpropertiesofthematerials,performanceoftheparts,partdesign,manufacturingprocess,andeconomicsareconsidered.Note1-ThisclassificationsystemissimilartoISO8257-1:1987intitleonly.Thetechnicalcontentissignificantlydifferent.1.6ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
