【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethoddescribesthetechniquesforcomparingthebrightnessofthepenetrantsusedinthefluorescentdyepenetrantprocess.Thiscomparisonisperformedundercontrolledconditionswhicheliminatemostofthevariablespresentinactualpenetrantexamination.Thus,thebrightnessfactorisisolatedandismeasuredindependentlyoftheotherfactorswhichaffecttheperformanceofapenetrantsystem.1.2Thebrightnessofapenetrantindicationisdependentonthedeveloperwithwhichitisused.Thistestmethodhowever,measuresthebrightnessofapenetrantonaconvenientfilterpapersubstratewhichservesasasubstituteforthedeveloper.1.3Thebrightnessmeasurementobtainediscolor-correctedtoapproximatethecolorresponseoftheaveragehumaneye.Sincemostexaminationisdonebyhumaneyes,thisnumberhasmorepracticalvaluethanameasurementinunitsofenergyemitted.Also,thecomparisonsareexpressedasapercentageofsomechosenstandardpenetrantbecausenoabsolutesystemofmeasurementexistsatthistime.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
